Jospin Pendere-Ye is a traditional singer-songwriter residing in Bangui, capital of Central African Republic. He plays ngombi – 10 string central African harp. Jospin is of Mbaka ethnicity and his accompanying group are Aka Pygmies. The album was recorded in Aka village not far away from Bangui, and sound of the forest can be heard in the background.
"Tomboka!" is an exclamation cried out during a fast and energetic dance. Song topics are everyday life and folk wisdom. In those songs Josping uses 4 languages: Sango (Central African Republic lingua franca), Mbaka (also known as Gbaka), Aka (Pygmies language) and French.
